Here’s another way to feel bad about the value of your home

I know I should start with something more upbeat after ignoring the blog for way too long. But I couldn’t resist sharing this graphic, which shows that the median value of a home is down 76% from the peak when valued in gold. Well, I don’t know about you, but I didn’t pay for my home with gold bars.  So those of you who are under water, say, to the tune of 20% or 30%, you can be smug. At least you didn’t pay in gold.

 

I kept my gold bullions stuffed in my mattress so I'm sleeping much better than anyone who paid for their home in gold over the last decade.
