I am a financial writer who has worked as a reporter and editor for major print and online publications, including USA Today, Knight-Ridder Financial News, and Quick Nikkei News. In more recent years, I have contributed to Barron’s, Investment News, and numerous online venues. I also teach financial writing for Wall Street executives in search of plain English.
After a 10-year period of hibernation I’m jumping back more seriously into the writing fray. When last I set fingers to the keyboard blogs were a curiosity and mortgages a backwater of finance (except for that 1987 pre-crash $450 million single-trade loss at Merrill Lynch. Merrill who??). I am interested in what makes markets and people tick, and how they hide behind numbers to cover motives. I have written about all manner of credit and stock markets, real estate and general interest pieces. I am also interested in alternative health, parenting issues, and how technology changes the way we think and write — which are related though you wouldn’t always know that. I like to view things through the lens of humor, but I take my topics seriously. Enjoy.
